University of Ibadan clears Air on Disrupted Academic Calendar

The management has released a new academic calendar earlier today, 13 days after the last industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities was called off.

Recall that the industrial action which started on the 13th of October, was called off in the early hours of 22nd day of the same month, leading to a state of confusion among University of Ibadan students on wether or not, the previous academic calendar still stands or another one will be released.

The tension was eased earlier today when a new calender was released which clarified all assumptions and doubt, answering the question of “which week are we in”. Contrary to the initial calender, the lecture week had been extended by 2weeks.

 To this effect, General studies examination now starts on the 24th of November against the initial schedule of 10th of the same month. Similarly, all examination now ends on the 31st day December and the semester comes to a close by 18th of February, 2026 extending the resumption for next academic session to 9th of March 2026.
