SUEC Releases 2024/2025 UI Student Union Election Timeline

The Student’s Union Electoral Commission (SUEC), University of Ibadan, released the timeline for the 2024/2025 Student Union elections on November 6, 2025. The timeline outlines the schedule of activities leading to the election of the next Student Union Executive Council (SUEC), Students’ Representative Council (SRC), and other positions within the Union.

According to the circular released by the Electoral Commission, the ban on political activities will be lifted on Sunday, November 2, 2025, signaling the commencement of the election season. 

Following the lift of the ban, collection and submission of forms for the Student Union Executive Council election will take place between Monday, November 3, and Friday, November 14, 2025, at Room 22, Student Affairs Division, University of Ibadan, which has been designated as the official venue for form collection and submission.

The screening exercise for aspirants is scheduled to be held on Saturday, December 6, and Sunday, December 7, 2025, after which qualified candidates will proceed to the Press Night on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The Manifesto and Speech Night will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025.

The Student Union Executive Council election will be conducted on Sunday, December 14, 2025, marking the climax of the Union’s political calendar for the year.

In continuation of the electoral process, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) election will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, following the collection and submission of forms on Monday, December 15, 2025, and the screening exercise scheduled for Wednesday, December 17, and Thursday, December 18, 2025.

The Commission has emphasized that all activities will adhere strictly to the Union’s electoral guidelines and the University’s regulations, ensuring a fair and inclusive process.
