University of Ibadan Ranks top university amongst other Universities

The University of Ibadan has been ranked the top Nigerian university by the Times Higher Education ranking, which examined 2,191 institutions from 115 countries using 18 performance indicators across five main areas including teaching, research environment, research quality, industry connection, and international outlook. 

The rank held by Covenant University in 2024 and 2025 consecutively as the best university has been reclaimed by the University of Ibadan according to the publication made on the Times Higher Education website last week, placing the university between 801 and 1,000 globally ahead of other universities, a position last held in 2023.

However, Covenant University has the highest industry score, a proof of the university's strong industry links. Bayero University of Kano is applauded as Nigeria's top university for international outlook, while the University of Lagos is ranked the highest in quality research, scoring a total of 66.7
