Time Does Not Heal.
By Prevail Otobo
Whoever said time heals lied.
Time doesn't heal. It distracts.
And for a moment, the pain ceases.
It feels and seems like a full recuperation,
Until your thoughts begin to wander.
Searching every corner of what was once abandoned,
Or maybe what was thought to be abandoned
And yes it finds it!
It stings, doesn’t it?
The weight.
The ache.
Heavier than the world.
Sharper than a samurai's sword.
And all of a sudden,
your heart starts racing and pounding.
It feels like watching a sad movie
No, not watching-living¡
And then you realise it.
You realise the neat patches that time placed on your wounds.
You discovered it
They can't heal.
They didn't heal.
They won't heal.
You were just too distracted to notice
Now they’ve lost their grip
You're not even back to square one
Because whatever progress was delusional
Stuck, you've always been
Static. Sad. Empty inside.
Masked under the delusion of time.
