Queen Elizabeth II Hall Beats Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall in Jaw War 2025

Following the first leg of the hall category which was held on the 16th of September, 2025, at the New Faculty Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Technology, the second leg of the hall category took place on the 19th of the same month with Queen Elizabeth II Hall emerging winner over Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall with a difference of 0.4 percent.


The event, themed “African in the 21st century and Beyond: Rethinking Power, Progress and Possibilities” featured returning halls facing the same opponent they faced in the first leg.


In the matchups, Obafemi Awolowo Hall emerged winner over Lord Tedder Hall with an aggregate of 77.78 percent to 74 percent. Queen Idia Hall won over Kuti Hall with an aggregate of 75.7 percent to 73.9 percent. Queen Elizabeth II Hall emerged over Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall with an aggregate of 75.85 percent to 75.45 percent. Independence Hall lost to Bello Hall with an aggregate of 75.08 percent to 80.12 percent and finally, Alexander Brown Hall defeated Mellanby Hall with an aggregate of 81.26 percent to 75.08 percent. Eriomala John from Alexander Brown Hall was crowned Best Speaker with a score  of 84.63 percent while Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall was given the award as the Best Loser.


The  debate proceeds as the winning halls will  advance to the next round of the debate.
