FG Declares Public Holiday for Eid-ul-Maulud, UI Work Resumes Monday

The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday in celebration of Eid-ul-Maulud, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

In response, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah within the university community. He urged them to use the period for prayers, reflection, and to promote peace and prosperity in the nation.

Work at the university will resume on Monday, September 8, 2025. However, the bulletin emphasized that officers on essential duties are expected to carry out their responsibilities without disruption.
