Asido Campus Network Organises 3rd Edition Of Matters That Matter

On Saturday, 13th September 2025, the Asido campus network held the 3rd edition of matters that matter at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan
Matters that matter is an Asido campus network event organised to educate people on mental health and integration of creativity with mental health. This year's edition, themed rhythms of life, featured activities like Oratory speeches from 8 campus organisations. Music performances from different music groups. The invited groups were: Law chorale, Music students association, therapeutic symphonies from UIMSA.
Oratory Speeches were delivered by Sigma club, Junior Chambers International, Union of Campus Journalists, AIESEC, Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSSN), Health Law Network, Psychiatry interest group Africa, and the host organisation, Asido campus network
The event also featured creative performances like spoken word, and music.
A panel discussion was held to interact on questions about suicide and how creativity can be used to express and enhance mental through engaging in different activities. The panelists urged students to take breaks and seek help when in need. The panelists include Honourable Toye Arulogun,
Eniola Busari, Ayanfe Oluwafikunayomi Ajagbe, Isabell
Irabor, and Dr Opeyemi Afolabi
In attendance at the event were the Deputy Dean of Students, DrAiki-raji, Student union executives.
The president urged attendees to always seek help, and engage in activities that elevate their mood. He also encouraged the right use of social media. The event ended at about 4:10pm with vote of thanks.
