“Have Your Ears and Eyes Checked”, University Health Services Urges University Community
By Sanni Juliet Oluwadarapupo
On the 4th of July, 2025, the University Health Services (UHS) released an internal memorandum urging the university community to adopt healthy practices and safety measures.
As stated in the memo, the university community was encouraged to check their ears and eyes if comments like “Can’t you see” or “Can’t you hear” are frequently passed on. It was also emphasized that earpieces should be plugged one ear at a time for the health and safety of all.
“Additionally, for the health and safety of all, let all hands be on deck to instruct and support users of earpieces to plug into only one ear at a time.”
The memo, signed by the Director of UHS, Dr. Aderonke B. Ajayi, gave further instructions for personal and environmental hygiene to reduce the risk of flooding and mosquitoes breeding.
The memo concluded with a plea urging the university community to take advantage of the ongoing health check approved and funded by the University. For additional information and enquiries, please contact Mr. S. O. Oladeimeji, UHS Wellness Officer (08056129262).
