The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan (UCJUI), held a press conference on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Room 38 to unveil key details about the upcoming Global Campus Journalism Summit 2.0.

The event, which began shortly after 5:00 PM, brought together representatives from various Local Press Organisations (LPOs) across the University. During the interactive session, attendees posed several questions, to which the organising committee responded with updates and clarifications.

The proposed date for the summit is July 5, 2025, and it is scheduled to take place at the KAF Auditorium, Department of Human Nutrition. The organisers also announced that registration would open later that night and close on Sunday.
A key highlight of the summit will be the Egbokahre debate, which will adopt the British Parliamentary system.

This year’s theme, “From Campus to Newsroom: Sustaining Truth and Innovation in the Age of AI,” reflects the organisation’s commitment to building ethical journalism and adaptability in a growing media space.
