Students To Face Continued Disciplinary Action Over May 13th Protest
Ayodele Aduwo and his colleagues, who led a peaceful protest against fees hike at the University of Ibadan, during the swearing in of Aweda led administration, have received a second invitation to appear before the Student Disciplinary Committee (SDC),on Monday 30th of June 2025.
Aduwo and Mide Gbadegesin were formally summoned again, signaling the university's intent to take further disciplinary measures against the students. This letter was received on Thursday 25th of June.
Speaking about the situation, on May 13th 2024. Three student namely: Aduwo Ayodele, Nice linus and Mide Gbadegesin. Raised a placard of peaceful protest about the sudden increase in the school fees, without any genuine reason.
This marks the second time the students have been called to face the disciplinary panel, stirring concerns about the university’s handling of student dissent. As stated by Aduwo as at the time of making the statement, he said “only Mide and I have received the letter"
The letters stated also that, failure to show attach disciplinary action.
