UI'SU Releases Memo on the outcome of Town Hall Meeting

On the 2nd of May, 2025, the University of Ibadan Students’ Union Executive Council held a Town hall meeting with the students leaders from different constituencies. The memo noted that about 150 student leaders were in attendance to address the pressing issues affecting the student body. The meeting which commenced at 2:10 PM allowed for student leaders from different constituencies to highlight challenges and issues faced by students in their various constituencies.

The UI’SU President, Covenant Odedele, gave an overview of the current activities and initiatives of the Union while detailing plans to collaborate with the student leaders to resolve the identified challenges. After the President’s address, the floor was open to comments and further discussions. The meeting which ended at 5:40 PM concluded with the following resolutions;

  1. The UI’SU will compile and present all raised concerns and complaints to the University’s Management.

  2. All Departmental and Faculty Presidents of constituencies affected by the discrepancies in fees are to collate and submit a detailed breakdown of school fees paid by their students to the Students’ Union.

  3. A congress may be held on or before May 10th depending on the feedback of their upcoming consultations with the University Management. 

The UI’SU appreciated the participation of the students leaders at the Town Hall’s Meeting stating, “Your contributions are invaluable as we collectively work towards addressing challenges facing our student community”.
