UI Law Student, Goodluck Akinlawon Wins 2025 Amnesty Inter-Varsity Debate

A 400-level student, Goodluck Akinlawon, from the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan, has been declared the winner of the 2025 Amnesty Inter-varsity Debate. 


The finale of the intervarsity competition which took place at Shehu Yar'adua Centre, Abuja featured the Director of Amnesty International, students from other universities and other dignitaries.


Odebala Odemena of Baze University, Abuja, and Alexander Boroh of the University of Benin emerged as first and second runner ups in the competition respectively.


Goodluck Akinlawon described the experience as amazing. She also expressed her gratitude to represent the university. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to have represented the University of Ibadan. I got to discuss real-time topics and explore new perspectives on those topics”, she said.


The Director of Amnesty International, congratulated the winners of the competition and attested the annual advancement of the inter varsity debate.
