In a health-focused outreach, HerSync, an AI-powered cycle and fertility tracking app, held an event on the 31st of May, 2025 at Queen Elizabeth II hall cafeteria. The event started around 11:00 a.m.
In attendance was the health minister, Fatunmbi Oluwaseun, other hall executives, a registered nurse and residents of the hall. The initiative, aimed at advancing women’s health, featured free menstrual pads for participants who signed up on the app, as well as tote bags and branded t-shirts for users with multiple referrals. In addition, HerSync offered ₦200 per referral, incentivizing students to spread the word.
The highlight of the promotion is a contest where the top referrer and her mother will receive a cash prize of ₦250,000, while the second runner-up and her mother will win ₦150,000. The campaign will run until July 20th.
The health minister, who helped coordinate the event, remarked: “We're trying to reduce period poverty. Situations where people have to withdraw from society because they can't adequately take care of themselves is something we're trying to reduce. Being able to track your periods will help promote female hygiene.”
"The app will be helpful for Queenites in tracking their periods. A lot of people can't even remember when their last period was." said Jumoke, an E-block resident.
The event ended on a lively note, with students chatting about the app’s features, the referral bonuses, and the prizes up for grabs. The event ended some minutes past one.
