UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN WELCOMES FRESHERS WITH DAY ONE ORIENTATION

Today, April 14, 2025, marked the resumption day for new students at the University of Ibadan, and the university held its orientation ceremony at the International Conference Center. In attendance were faculty members, including Vice Chancellor Professor Kayode Adebowale and Dean of Students Professor Adekeye Abiona, among other distinguished professors.
The event commenced at 9:50 am with the national anthem and school anthem. The Dean of Students, Professor Adekeye Abiona, opened the ceremony with a welcome address, congratulating the students on their admission and welcoming them to this new chapter in their lives. He wished them success, happiness, and fulfillment during their stay at the university.
Following the welcome address, Vice Chancellor Professor Kayode Adebowale took the stage to deliver a speech. He highlighted the university's history, achievements, and evolution over the years. He discussed various aspects of university life, including faculty registrations, halls of residence, health services, and sports facilities, providing insights for the new students.
Professor Adebowale emphasized the university's commitment to excellence, stating, "When we pride ourselves, we do not compare ourselves with the best universities in Nigeria but with world-class universities."
The Vice Chancellor concluded his speech by wishing the students a fulfilling and successful tenure at the university. He encouraged them to take full advantage of the available resources, explore their potential, and strive for excellence in all endeavors.
