Gleams Foundation Holds Panel discussion on the Theme: Rising Above Limitations

The university hosted an empowerment programme designed to help young minds and creatives through life. The event was held at the New Faculty Lecture Theatre (NFLT) University of Ibadan on  Wednesday 23rd April 2025.

The event kicked off at 12:00pm. The anchor and MC who introduced himself as ‘Married Bachelor’ opened the event with the recitation of the second stanza of the old national anthem and new national anthem. A few games such as dance and rap were introduced to entertain the audience before the main event.


The CEO of Gleams Foundation, Otunba Moses was called on stage to officially  open the event of the day. Shortly after, The MC introduced the host of the panel session in person of Oyindamola Omobaba Faweyinmi, a UITE.The host introduced the guest of the day in person of Kemi Ikusedun who is popularly known by her stage name: Mommy Wa from her comedy skits with Mr. Macaroni. She also introduced the representatives of the Gleams Foundation: the CEO Mr. Otunba Moses.


The CEO shed light on the foundation and its opportunities, cutting across the different creative units in the foundation such as music, styling and fashion, cinematography, photography and acting. The CEO of Gleams Foundation persuaded UITES to engage  in the creativity HUB. Kemi Ikusedun was given the floor to address the audience about the limitations and possibilities to rise above them. Going further she mentioned one’s mindset being the greatest way to success, reactions to situations will determine what will become of those situations.  She emphasized on being “Stubborn about your vision”, not relenting about you’re passionate about. 


Next was Laurel Oluwaseun; the current SSA Oyo State Governor. According to Him, there are certain factors that can serve as  limitations, but these factors can also drive one to rise above limitations. The event closed with votes of thanks and a group dance with the guests and the audience all expressing gratitude to the speakers, GLEAMS FOUNDATION promised to be back to UI for a four-day training session in the future.
