COUNCIL OF FACULTY PRESIDENTS PROPOSES INCREASE IN BASIC DUES

In the early hours of April 4, 2025, the Council of Faculty Presidents shared a memorandum stating the proposal of basic dues from 3000 naira to 5000 naira. Just as the Council of Hall Chairpersons (COHC) did earlier this week.

The letter stated that the decision was arrived at, after careful consideration from individual faculty presidents as the existing amount has been insufficient in the running and planning of constitutional and customary events. 

They expressed their understanding of the discomfort this decision might cause and said “However, we believe that the benefits of the increment outweigh the costs. We are committed to ensuring that any increase is properly utilized and accounted for.” 

They requested an opportunity to engage with the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) to further deliberate on this proposed increment.
