UI Student With Pending Disciplinary Case removed from SRC office

The Student Affairs Division, University of Ibadan released an internal memorandum on the 4th of March, 2025. The memorandum stated that, in the election which was conducted on Saturday 1, March 2025, a candidate, Miss Linus Nice who has an unresolved Student Disciplinary Committee (SDC) case contested and won the election.

According to the memorandum, Mr T.I Musa, the Deputy Registrar stated that, the University regulations clearly state that students with pending disciplinary cases are not eligible to contest or hold any elective positions until their cases are resolved.

Signed by the Deputy Registrar, the memo indicated that Miss Olaleye Abolaji Joy, who scored a total of 89 points would automatically be the majority leader from Obafemi Awolowo Hall, University of Ibadan.

“This outcome requires a necessary change in the composition of the Student Representative Council (SRC) for the 12" Assembly. As, Miss Olaleye Abolaji Joy who scored 89 points, automatically becomes the majority leader. This change means, Miss Linus Nice ceases to be a member in the new Student Representative Council”, the memorandum read.

A copy of the memorandum was sent to the Dean of Students, the Hall Warden and the Hall Chairperson of Obafemi Awolowo Hall, respectively.
