Queen Elizabeth II Hall Organizes Cultural Night, Themed: ÀRÍYA

On the 5th of March, 2025, Queen Elizabeth II Hall held its cultural night themed: ÀRÍYA at Queen Elizabeth II Hall Cafeteria. The event, which was scheduled to begin by 3:00 PM began by 4:00 PM and it was hosted by Mr. Samuel Babalola, popularly known by his stage name, Sammyel and co-hosted by Miss Miracle Iheagwazi.  


The cultural night was attended by the Hall Warden, Dr. Abiola Omokhabi, Assistant Hall Warden, Dr. Abiola Oyedola, Dr. Abiodun Adewunmi, Dr. Omolola Omoyoni, and Dr. Folusho Bolaji Alabi. 


In attendance were the hall porters, Mr. Olaniran, Mr. Oladepo, Mr. Oladeji, Mr. Ajayi, and Mrs. Komolafe. The event was also attended by the mother of Adekunle Iyanuyimika (Vice Hall chair Person), Mrs. Adekunle, the hall executives and the students. 

A spoken word, titled ÀRÍYA was presented by Miss Opeyemi, who highlighted the Yoruba cultural heritage. The event featured games and talk shows which stated the need for one to be culturally integrated into one’s heritage. 

“All that we have done today is for us to be reminded of our roots and to know more about our culture”, the host added.


The Miss Heritage pageant, an important part of the cultural night, was not held this session, as there were no participants. 


The event came to an end around 6:00 PM with the closing remarks given by the Vice Hall Chairperson, Iyanuyimika Angel, who expressed her gratitude to her supporters and everyone who contributed to the event.
