STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY HOLD CAREER FAIR
On January 13th, final-year students from the Department of Psychology organized a career fair focused on life after university. The event featured several guest speakers, including Dr. Abel Obosi, a clinical psychologist and lecturer in the department, who shared insights on navigating post-university life, Moses Afolabi, a professional in the tech industry, discussed the essential skills needed to succeed in technology-related careers, Temitope Omosebi, an academic advisor at the Asat Foundation and founder of Attack Against Asthma, spoke about his experience in creating an NGO, personal branding, and freelancing and Dr. Adewole Adeyinka, the former Student Union President, encouraged students to seize opportunities and continuously upskill.
The fair began at 12:30 PM with the national and school anthems, followed by a welcome message from the course representative. Dr. Abel Obosi praised the class for organizing the event and suggested that they encourage other classes in the department to arrange similar fairs during their final year.
The speakers then proceeded to do a question and answer session as they encouraged questions from the attendees.
Overall, the speakers emphasized preparedness, making informed decisions about careers, volunteering, building professional networks and cultivating the spirit of resilience.
