Law Students' Society Hosts Finance Summit on Thriving in a Changing World

On January 6, 2025, the Law Students' Society of the University of Ibadan organised a finance summit themed, “Thriving in a Changing World” The event aimed at equipping participants with financial literacy and management skills, brought together esteemed facilitators who shared insights into building a secured financial future in today’s digital economy.
The summit featured presentations by industry professionals, including Mr Olubori Paul, Mr John Olosunfemi, and Mr Esosa Etan Ateramuyeye, Business and Sales Manager at Land Republic. Each speaker emphasised the importance of financial independence, adaptability, and leveraging technology for personal growth and stability.
Mr Olubori Paul encouraged attendees to focus on the "dressing of their mind" rather than their physical appearance, highlighting the role of the mindset in success. He urged participants not to conform to traditional norms but to create their paths and emphasised that greatness requires stepping out of the ordinary. According to him, “Wisdom is applied knowledge,” and setting limitless visions is key to achieving extraordinary results.
Mr. John Olosunfemi encouraged students to explore their unique niches and passions. He highlighted the importance of negotiation skills and advised participants to find ways to express their love for what they do. He also stressed the necessity of acting swiftly when opportunities arise, noting, "Money loves speed."
Delivering the core session, Mr. Esosa spoke extensively on financial literacy in a digitised world. He identified critical stages of financial growth, including dependence, survival, stability, and independence, and provided actionable steps to achieve financial stability.
