UISU helds its Personality Lecture, Rising Above The Borders.

On the 11th of December, 2024, the University of Ibadan Students’ Union held a personality lecture themed, “RISING ABOVE THE BORDERS: THE CHAMP AND HIS PAINS” at the Alumni Hall, University of Ibadan. 


The event was hosted by Miss Wuraola Olagoke and Miss Oyindamola Fawehinmi. The Welcome Address was delivered by the Vice President of the Students Union, Boluwatife Aboderin. Present at the event were Prof. Ayodeji Omole, who was the Personality Lecturer of the day, Dr. Tolulope Aderemi, the Guest speaker, Dr Bisi Ojebola, Prof SJ Jonathan, Prof Ade Oduboya, Prof T Ebijuwa, Dean of The Faculty of Social Science, Prof. Olu Fisayo, Prof Abass Adeyemi, SRC Principle member, Engineer Isaac Lala, Baale from Ogbomosho and other dignitaries, Executives of Team Amelioration,the former Student Union Executives and the students of the University of Ibadan.




The guest speaker, Dr Tolulope Aderemi, gave a lecture on the topic “BUILDING THE BRAND YOU”, where he gave certain principles on how one can succeed, how one can distinguish himself or herself and how to stand out in the labour market. “You must become self aware, do not get carried away by what life gives to you, but resist to get what you truly want”. He added. He concluded his lecture with a statement “ What is your stock price in the value of life? That is the true value or barometer to measure your wealth”. An award was conferred to him by the Students Union President, Aweda Bolaji. 


Professor T. Ebijuwa delivered the main lecture on behalf of Professor Ayodeji Omole where he urged everyone to build their capacity and continue developing themselves. A panel session titled “SIGN POST FOR SUCCESS: FROM UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN TO THE WORLD. It was anchored by Miss Olabisi Owadayo, in attendance were the panelists, Dr Isaac Olufadewa, Mrs Yemisi Adepoju, Mr Ahmed Bashorun and Mr Raphael Stephen. They encouraged the students to create plans for the coming year and to remain consistent in whatever they engage in. 


A closing remark was given by the Students Union Vice President, Boluwatife Aboderin, appreciating the students for making time to come out for the program. Announced by Miss Oyindamola, the UISU Week 2024 continues as there will be a costume and movie day on the 12th of December, 2024 -as the ticket sales are priced at 300 naira.
