UI’SU Identified with Alexander Brown Hall and Ayo Falase Post Graduate Hall of Residence Amidst Blackout Crisis

In a memo released by the Student Union on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the Student Union identified with the residents of Alexander Brown Hall and Ayo Falase post-graduate Hall of residence amidst the 18-day blackout.

 The blackout was a result of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBDEC) cutting off power supply from the University College Hospital.

The Student Union expressed her displeasure in the situation, stating, “We consider it unfortunate that this is a recurring situation in the foremost institution of learning and research in the country where adequate electricity is needed for almost everyday running of student activities…”

The Student Union urged the authorities and university management to collaborate and find a quick and sustainable solution to the crisis.
