UCJ, UI Holds Press Conference

The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan held its press conference on November 23, 2023. The conference commenced at 9:55 am with the Union’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Lanlehin Habib who led the press prayer.

UCJ, UI President, Tarre Tosanwunmi addressed the campus journalists, outlining the conference modalities and highlighting the union’s lineup of events. She announced that campus journalists from other universities, including Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Ilorin, University of Lagos, Polytechnic Ibadan, and Olabisi Onabanjo University, would attend the induction ceremony scheduled for November 30, 2024.

She also revealed that the cash prizes for the Sunday Oguntola Award and Isaac Martin Best Inductee Award had been increased by ₦50,000 and ₦70,000, respectively. Local press organizations were urged to register for the induction ceremony, as only duly registered organizations would be inducted.

The Vice President (Administration), Oyekola Muiz reminded the inductees about the ongoing skill acquisition program, which is part of the induction ceremony. The event concluded around 10:20 am, with the UCJ Editor-in-Chief, Tijani AbdulKabir reminding campus journalists to submit their entries for the magazine publication.
