The University of Ibadan Holds its 76th Convocation Ceremony

The University of Ibadan holds its 76th convocation ceremony of the 2022/2023 session at the International Conference Centre (ICC) on Wednesday, 13th November 2024. 

The event was attended by prominent personalities including The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, Vice Chancellor of Aliqmah University, Professor Noah Yusuf, a representative from the University of Ilorin, Prof. Abiola and other dignitaries. 


 


The event kicked off at 9:50 am with the entry of the academic procession in divisions. This was followed by the recitation of the National Anthem and the University Anthem. 

 

The graduation address was taken by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kayode O. Adebowale who gave a brief history of the University, where he stated that there are 123 academic departments and 6 faculties. He also stated that 16 programs from 5 faculties are being offered for the Distance Learning Program. 

“I encourage you all to persist in your pursuit of knowledge, as education extends far beyond the near acquisition of certificates”, the Vice Chancellor added. 

 

There are 6,553 graduates from all the faculties including Distance Learning and 111 diploma certificates will be awarded.
