Career Fair 2.0: Building Sustainable Solutions to Economic Challenges for Entrepreneurs

On Saturday, 23, November 2024, Career Fair had its second edition of career impact themed “Building Sustainable Solutions to Economic Challenges for Entrepreneurs” at Kaaf Auditorium, Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Ibadan.
The “Career Fair” which is a career impact programme for entrepreneurs commenced around 10:22 a.m. with the singing of the National Anthem and University of Ibadan anthem.
The first speaker of the event, Olumide Gbadebo, the founder of “Adunni Organics” talked about who an entrepreneur is, the goals, challenges and benefits of an entrepreneur.
The second speaker, Mr Taiwo Idris, the Chief Marketing Officer, Cardify Africa spoke on the “Success of an entrepreneur”. He noted that three things; “value, character, relationship” are needed to be a successful person.
The third speaker, Mr Adedoyin Adeleke the Executive Director of Green Growth Africa focused on “Identifying Problems" he gave instances on problems that have been solved such as world communication problems solved with the invention of social media applications like Whatsapp, Instagram and other communication platforms.
Omolara, a representative of an investment company “Meristem Security Limited” also talked about business investments.
Mr Adebayo Adedeji, CEO of Princenoch Mr Adedeji spoke on the types of entrepreneurs and the steps to building sustainable solutions.
The last phase of the event was the Pitch deck which consisted of different competitors presenting their business ideas and brands before the judges. Nifty brand, a promising shoe making business emerged the winner of the competition with the prize of eighty thousand naira..
The event came to an end at about 4:26pm.
