University of Ibadan Student Representative Council (SRC) Issues a Three-Day Ultimatum to the President of the Student Union

The University of Ibadan Student Representative Council, in a letter dated July 30, 2024, signed by SRC Speaker Rt. Hon. Opegbemi Matthias Busoye and the Clerk of the House, Hon. Quadri Olaoluwa Shoge, issued a three-day ultimatum to the President of the Student Union, Mr. Aweda Bolaji, to call for Congress.

 

The letter followed a notice calling for Congress, signed by 250 students of the University of Ibadan. It stated that the ultimatum would expire on August 2, 2024, to avoid violating the directive, "Congress shall be summoned by the Chairman on the approval of the Council. The President, on receipt of 250 signatories of the students, shall direct the General Secretary to summon the Congress," as outlined in Article XIII(2) of the University of Ibadan Students' Union Constitution.
