UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN STUDENT UNION RELEASES MEMO ON PROTEST RESOLUTIONS

 In a memo released today, the 17th of July, the University of Ibadan Student Union released a resolution on the protest that was held in the late hours of the night on the 16th of July following a memo on electricity reduction.

 


The memo, signed by the Student Union President, Aweda Bolaji,  the General Secretary, Ogundijo Dolapo Japheth and the Speaker, Opegbemi Mathaias, stated that the Union had reached five resolutions

Among those, they ‘condemned’ the ‘ongoing victimization’ of students who embarked on a peaceful protest earlier in May. They also called for a reversal of all fees, emphasizing that there would be no reduction as well as requesting for a refund for those who paid. They also called for a withdrawal of the memo on electricity rationing.
