UI GMO ORGANIZES A WALK AGAINST SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND GENDER BASED VIOLENCE

The University of Ibadan Gender Mainstreaming Office (GMO) on the evening of Thursday, 27th June 2024 took a walk against sexual harassment and gender-based violence.

The walk was to sensitise students to take the bold step of speaking up about any sexual harassment issues or gender-based violence.



Campaigners were seen carrying placards and banners were raised with inscriptions to oppose sexual harassment and gender-based violence. Other members who participated in the walk went from one hall of residence to another handing flyers to students which contained contact details to report cases of sexual harassment and gender-based violence.

 Locations to report cases of harassment and violence include Oyo State Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) Rapid Respond Team (RRT), Ministry of Women Responding, Secretariat, Ibadan, International Federation of Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria, Oyo State Branch, and Family Health and Population Action Committee (FAHPAC).
