ABH CLAIMS FIRST POSITION IN ASIDO CAMPUS NETWORK ORATORY CONTEST FINAL.

The Asido Campus Network, University of Ibadan,held the final stage of it's Oratory contest and a Stage playon 30th September 2023 at the Trenchard Hall. 

The event, tagged "Matters that Matter" was organised to create awareness of suicide in society.

The event started with the final stage of the Oratory contest. Alexander Brown Hall emerged victorious with 78 points. Awo Hall placed second with 70.7 and Mellanby all in third place at 70 points Independence Hall at 4th and Sultan Bello Hall at 5th position.


Aside from the Oratory contest, the event featured a stage play directed by Waheed.S.Olamilekan, popularly known as Òròlabí.

 A panel session was held to discuss issues regarding suicide and how to help people with suicidal thoughts. The panelists involved were: Aiki-raji,  Dean of students, Dr. Demola Lewis, former deputy Dean of students, Dr. Olayinka Egbokhare, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed, Miss Tawakalt, the president of Asido Campus Network UI and Mr. Adekunle Titus, a medical doctor.

Dr. Mohammed Ahmed, in his session, advised students to "slow down and join associations like Asido." He also encouraged students to "speak out".

The Asido Campus Network's recruits were also inducted at the event.

Other Notable personalities present at the event were the SU President, Samson Tobiloba, Vice President, Nafisat Ogunsesan, The president of the Council of Faculty President, Fiyin Atinmo, and  The Literary and Debating Society's President, Aweda Bolaji.
