UCJUI AWARDS PROFESSOR STELLA ODEBODE, KUNLE REMI, AMONG OTHERS IN HER FAMOUS FIVE AWARDS CEREMONY

 


On Saturday, April 1, 2023, the Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan held her annual Famous Five Awards ceremony at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan. The award ceremony recognizes five important personalities in five various fields. The categories recognized at this year’s FFA ceremony were the Political/Activist, Academic, Entrepreneurship, Entertainment, and Journalism categories.

Some of the dignitaries present were Dr Babatunde Ojebuyi representing the Vice-Chancellor and the Dean of Students, Dr. Kemi Obayelu representing Professor Stella Odebode, Mr. Mojeed Alabi representing the Grand Patron of the Union, Dapo Olorunyomi, Mrs Seyi Awojulugbe, the keynote speaker, Mr Nurudeen Bakare, and Mrs Olubunmi Faluyi represented by Mr Olawuyi.

The event started at 11:00 am with the press prayer taken by the Public Relations Officer of the union. The Famous Five Award awardees for each category are; Academic Category - Dr Stella Odebode, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Journalism category – Mr Oluwamayowa Tijani; Entrepreneur Category - Mr Nurudeen Bakare; Entertainment category - Mr Oyekunle Oluwaremi; and the Activism Category – Mr Adebowale “Debo” Adedayo.

Dr Stella Odebode’s award was received by Dr Kemi Obayelu, and Mr Kunle Remi, who was unavoidably absent was represented by Victoria Saanu. Mr Oluwamayowa Tijani, of the Journalism Category, was represented by Mrs Seyi Awojulugbe who received the award on his behalf. The Awardees who were absent however sent their appreciation through videos. 

Another important feature of the event was the Union’s magazine launch – Campulse Magazine. The Vice President (Editorial), Oluwatobi Odeyinka presented the magazine before the attendees of the event and some dignitaries participated in the launch by making monetary commitments.
