B BLOCK READING ROOM RE-OPENED; VIOLATION OF RULES ATTRACTS N 1,000 FINE

On Saturday, March 25, 2023, Queen Elizabeth II Hall released a memorandum on the re-opening of the B-block reading room. Alongside this, rules surrounding the use of the reading room have been established and violation of these newly set rules attracts a fine of a thousand naira.

According to the memorandum, the Health Minister, Durojaye Deborah Mafolayomi, stated that the B-block reading room was closed due to the infestation of bedbugs and several fumigations have been carried out to kill the infesting insects.

The rules addressed matters of cleanliness which include not bringing blankets, wrappers, or big bags into the reading room, not eating in the reading room, and disposing of bottles of drinks properly. The rules also addressed the issue of leaving belongings overnight, especially if the reader is not going to stay overnight as has been done beforehand by Queenites at the B-Block reading room. And if the Queenite decides to stay overnight, she should not sleep on the chairs in the reading room, but should kindly do so in her room.
