LEADERS OF THE COMING GENERATION
Have you ever thought about the coming generation and what the characteristics of that generation might be? Is it going to be any different from the current generation? Why should it be different from this generation and how can it be different?
We have consistently heard the elders and teachers tell us we are the leaders of tomorrow. Being leaders of tomorrow means we are the ones in charge of the future to come. So have you pictured how you want to become a leader? There is a saying that every coming generation looks up to the reigning generation.
Do you want the coming ones to see you the way you see the current generation of elderly ones?
After manifolds of interviews done with people concerning the generation of our parents, researchers found out that many young ones are not pleased. Many have said they ceased to be problem solvers and instead became problem creators. Many have attributed issues like unemployment, insecurity, bad education and health system to the failure of their generation. Somehow, we have become victims of circumstance. Upon this, it is up to us to decide what narrative we want to give the coming generation about us. The elderly ones might have failed us in certain ways but what are our plans for the coming generation? How do we act so that the coming generation will not have the same sentiment as we do now?
What are the strategies? No one is too young to make a difference. A generation starts with a person so while waiting for the time and season your generation will take over, start planning on how to become a problem solver. How can you use your skills and gifts to create ideas that will make your generation a unique one? The only way to set a trend for problem solvers is if we start it. We should stop complaining and instead invest our time in making things better. We all know this popular saying ‘if you fail to plan, you've planned to fail’.
An important thing is acquiring knowledge because you must have sound knowledge as a leader. We are in an era where we should create jobs and not seek jobs. This is the digital age and the world is becoming increasingly complex. Even if you are not sure about how to help the future, then your key aim should be to research ways on working it out. The stakes facing our generation are much more than they seem at one glance. Our actions have the potential to bring about a far better world or cut it short. We can make a TEAM effort to make things better because Together Everyone Achieves More. I look forward to seeing you leave a path that will never be forgotten in the hearts of men.
