UI PROFESSOR ORGANIZES BOOK LAUNCH FOR RETIREMENT CEREMONY

On Saturday, 26 November, 2022, Professor Dawud Olatokunbo Shittu Noibi Obe, a UI professor of Islamic Studies threw a book launch ceremony to celebrate his retirement at the Islamic Centre, University of Ibadan. The book titled: Islamo Nigeriana was written to honour the life of the Professor. During the book launch of Islamo Nigeriana, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Lawal applauded the Professor and called him a father to all. He referred to him as a man that is knowledgeable and wise. The Vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin in a tribute titled; ‘An icon in the eyes of the people' described the honouree as a reputable scholar and a teacher of teachers. 

The book Islamo which focuses on a person being a Muslim in contemporary Nigeria was launched with five million naira by Comrade Saheed Alao to be distributed to charity organisations chosen by Professor Noibi. The event ended with a vote of thanks by the honouree
