On  Saturday 5, November 2022, Queen Elizabeth II Hall organised an orientation programme for her fresh residents. The program was in a bid to familiarise them with the University community and expose them to information they should possess as a Queenite and a student of the University of Ibadan.

Speaking at the event was the Hall Warden, Dr Omokhabi, who reiterated the need to be security conscious at all times and to notify the right persons in case of an unusual occurrence. In her words,

"Do not take free rides, do not go out at night, do not follow anybody you do not know and always notify your floor representative if you notice anything odd in your hall."

The Hall supervisor, Mr Ojuolape also spoke at the event and described the basic rules of the hall. He mentioned that the visiting hours start from 4 pm but visitors are not currently allowed into the hostel. He added that the misplacement of identification cards should immediately be reported to security personnel. While warning the freshers, he emphasised the consequences of breaking the hall rules. He informed them that a breach of the regulations could warrant possible ejection depending on the gravity of the offence. Some of the rules include: not selling goods in the hostel, not cooking in the room, and not brushing beside the tank, among others.

Dr Oluwatoyin Ajiboye who was also present discussed the importance of having good relationships among fellow students as this will foster unity and assist their journey as students of the University. She also highlighted the importance of having the right study group and how it can help their studies and that reflecting on one's self is a contributing factor to personal development.

Other things discussed at the orientation were the calculation of the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), visiting the  Jaja Clinic when ill, and so on.
