Your Choice, Your Power!!

By Abraham Favour Olohigbe

Stop forcing it.

Stop trying to fix what’s shattered.

It doesn’t have to be perfect; it doesn’t have to be patched.

Not everything broken needs your hands to piece it together.

Sometimes, it’s okay to let it lie in ruins,

To pick it up and cast it far away.

You don’t have to endure being chosen and discarded,

Loved and broken, over and over again.

You don’t have to keep reliving the pain,

Walking in circles in the same storm.

Situations will arise, tempests will toss,

But who says you must brave them all?

Why walk through the same wreckage twice?

Why bear the weight that could be left behind?

You can put a full stop.

End it!! Close the chapter.

Turn the page and face something new,

Something alive, something filled with bliss and promise.

It’s not a must.

It’s an if.

Your choice, your power, your freedom to leave.
