On November 30, 2024, the President of the Faculty of Science Literary and Debating Society, University of Ibadan, Bayo Salaudeen, officially retracted a previous public statement made the previous day, November 29, 2024, in which he blamed Vice President Oluwabukunmi Amoo for the Faculty’s L&D Society recent loss in competition. The retraction was communicated in a signed address aimed at taking responsibility and resolving the issue.

In his statement, Salaudeen admitted his initial response to the loss was rash and uncalled for as a leader. Salaudeen emphasized that the matter should have been handled within the Faculty’s L&D society instead of being made public.

He extended apologies to the Vice President, members of the Faculty of Science L&D Society, the Faculty of Science L&D society Society alumni body, Legislative and Executive arms of the faculty, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Science students. He pledged that full amendments has been made on the issue.

The President further reaffirmed that Oluwabukunmi Amoo remains the Vice President and an active member of the Faculty of science L&D society.
