Queen Elizabeth II Hall Hosts Ladies' Hangout

On August 18, 2024, Queen Elizabeth II Hall hosted a Ladies’ Hangout with the theme “Young Ladies, Keep Your Dreams Alive.” The event was organised by Professor Oluyemisi Abimbola and aimed to empower young women and address the challenges students face. The event started at exactly 2:58 pm. 

In her address, Professor Abimbola shared insights into her struggles and journey. She spoke about her faith and how she spent eight years on a law course intended to last three years, graduating in 1992 with a CGPA of 2.2. “The road was not sweet, but the journey has been amazing,” she remarked. She further highlighted three main distractions to achieving one’s dreams: relationships with the opposite sex, financial issues, and friends. 

The hangout proceeded with a question-and-answer session and ended at around 5:17 pm with Mojoyinoluwa Agbonde, the hall chairperson, who expressed gratitude to the convener and urged Queenites to remember Queen Elizabeth II Hall as they move forward in their endeavours.
