Rotaract Club Holds Orientation Session

The Rotaract Club at the University of Ibadan welcomed aspiring members to its orientation session on Thursday, July 18th, 2024, held at the Zik Hall Junior Common Room. Despite a slight delay, the session commenced promptly at 5:31 pm, which aimed to acquaint participants with the club's core principles and upcoming activities.

Madam Vice President Boluwatife Kehinde opened the session with a heartfelt apology for the delayed start and introduced the Rotaract Club's mission and values. "We are committed to fostering a community of service and ethical leadership," she emphasized.

The session continued with Rotaractor Toheeb Oladeji who led the group in the Rotary Grace, he highlighted the importance of ethical conduct. Rotaractor Adeola Grace explained the "Four Way Test," a fundamental ethical guideline guiding the club's actions. "This test isn't just rules; it's our compass for making ethical decisions,” Rotaractor Grace explained.

President Beloved Adebayo Olapade took the stage next and reflected on the club's history and its upcoming milestone of celebrating 55 years at the University of Ibadan later this year. "From our first president, Ayo Sanwo, in 1969/1970 to today, our commitment remains strong," Olapade added, highlighting the club's enduring legacy of community impact.


Former club president Ebunoluwa Oluwayomi Dorcas rounded off the orientation with advice on preparing for upcoming exams and interviews. Stressing the importance of professional attire and readiness, Dorcas urged aspiring members to embody the club's values in and out of formal settings.

The session ended with a vibrant networking opportunity, where executive members of the Rotaract Club engaged directly with recruits, fostering a sense of community and commitment to service.
