  Understanding your menstrual cycle is a crucial aspect of women's health. It's common for girls to receive guidance on menstruation, but as they navigate through this natural cycle, irregularities may raise concerns. Typically, a woman should experience her period every 24 to 38 days, lasting 2 to 8 days. If the gap between periods is less than 21 days or more than 35 days, it's considered irregular. Irregular periods are a common aspect of a woman’s reproductive journey. Any little change in a lady’s diet or her way of life can cause significant changes in her menstrual cycle.


  Irregularities are often normal during the onset of menstruation and approaching menopause. However, persistent irregularities might be influenced by various factors. Hormonal contraceptives, fluctuations in weight, stress, and excessive exercise can impact the regularity of menstrual cycles. Additionally, conditions like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and an underactive thyroid gland may contribute to irregular periods.

  Weight changes play a significant role in menstrual regularity. Losing or gaining weight can disrupt hormonal balance, affecting the timing and flow of periods. It's essential for young women to be mindful of their weight and adopt a healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet and regular exercise. Such habits contribute not only to overall well-being but also to maintaining a regular menstrual cycle.

Balancing exercise routines with sufficient rest and recovery is crucial for maintaining a healthy menstrual cycle.

Girls experiencing persistent irregularities should consult with a healthcare professional to rule out underlying medical conditions and receive appropriate guidance.

   In conclusion, irregular periods are common, especially during certain life stages. However, being attuned to one's body, adopting a healthy lifestyle, managing stress, and seeking professional advice when needed are vital steps in ensuring menstrual well-being. If you are affected by it you can visit your gynecologist but you probably do not need treatments for it. If you find out you have been stressed for a while before the menstrual irregularities you can try to reduce stress and some strenuous activities that you engage in.
