Leadership isn't just a title; it's the cornerstone upon which every organization stands. As I reflect on recent events within Queens Hall, it becomes increasingly evident that effective leadership and communication are the linchpins of our collective success. Allow me to delve deeper into this discourse, drawing insights from our recent experiences and pondering the path forward.

Imagine Queens Hall: it's all about sophistication and togetherness, but lurking beneath its polished exterior is a hidden sense of discord.

Although we're doing okay, just being okay isn't good enough. We need to aim higher, working together towards our goals with determination and a clear vision.

Let us address the conduct of Dooshima, our esteemed hall chairperson, in light of recent events. There has been a call for scrutiny regarding her leadership, particularly concerning the convening of a meeting for blocks F, G, and H without prior explanation of its agenda. This lapse in communication is concerning, as it undermines the need for clear direction. It begs curiosity to know why anyone will attend a meeting because the hall chairperson says so without a purpose.

On the day of the meeting, despite the sound system being strategically positioned around G and H blocks to summon residents, the attendance was dismally low, with fewer than one percent of those living on the block, totaling fewer than 20 people, in attendance. Was it a sense of apathy that deterred Queenites from attending, or was it a lack of confidence in the leadership's guidance? The reasons extend beyond mere statistics to encompass the sentiments of those who opted not to participate. The meeting was actually to check on the welfare of Queenites and would have been beneficial if Queenites were informed.

Reflecting on past events, particularly the Jaw War debate, serves as a poignant reminder of our collective potential. The significant disparity in turnout between the first and second rounds underscores the impact of unified action. Initially, Queenites attendance was disappointingly low during the first round, resulting in an unexpected loss. However, during the subsequent round, the turnout surged, culminating in Queens Hall's victory over Zik Hall. A loss Zik hall is yet to recover from. This success can be attributed to the commendable efforts of the speakers and increased support from Queenites for their representatives. When Queenites unite in support of a common cause, we become an unstoppable force, transcending the boundaries of individual blocks and affiliations. The last administration can also be commended for its effort in communication and pulling Queenites together for their common interest. Instances like the town hall meeting concerning, sanitation and hygiene, election and suggestions from Queenites on the way forward for the betterment of the hall by working with every stakeholders in the hall for inclusivity.

The enduring rivalry between Queen Idia Hall and Queen Elizabeth II Hall regarding their status as the true Queens is a matter of historical significance. However, it ultimately falls upon us, as Queenites, to uphold the pride and reputation associated with our identity. While self-comparison may not always be prudent, there are lessons to be gleaned from observing our counterparts. For instance, if the President of Queen Idia were to convene a meeting, it begs the question: how would our response compare? This prompts us to reflect not only on the value we attribute to our hall chairperson but also on the actions they take to earn our esteem. Indeed, actions speak louder than words, and it is through their deeds that true worth is demonstrated.

However, the essence of effective leadership extends beyond mere authority; it hinges on cultivating trust, transparency, and inclusivity. A leader's influence permeates the organization, shaping its core values and collective identity. This entails profound dedication and unwavering commitment to advancing the common good.

In light of recent developments, it is clear that our administrative body must embrace the imperative for change. Emphasizing transparency, inclusivity, and clear communication will underpin our culture, steering us through periods of instability with clarity and purpose.
