Exploring the dynamics of Hair Locs.
Locs
are one of the most dynamic hairstyles that is fit for natural hair. This part
of the world is going "the natural hair" way, locs is one of those
styles that can't be undermined when you're on a look around for unique natural
styles beyond the norm. Many people wonder if locs are still the
"dreadlocks" thing that people carry around. With that, it makes them
crawl away from it. Well, this doesn't outrule the cultural and historical
background. In the fashion world, it has been a debatable concern on who should
wear locs. Irrespective of different views and opinions, we can't point out the
reality that locs are appropriate for everyone to wear, particularly with much
reference to the recency of the style.
The
history of locs can be traced back to old Greece which was worn by people of
various religions and diverse cultures including the Hindus and Israelites.
During the trans-Atlantic slave trade around 1600 - the 1800s, Africans were
brought to America and other places around the globe. They travelled through the
ship for months and were unable to care for their hair to keep it neat. When
they got to their destination, it was expected that they looked tangled and
locked. It was said that the slave owners referred to the dreadful sight of the
captives as "dread". That's where the term "dread" comes
from. Dreadlocks have an extensive phenomenon in diverse cultures, for example,
the American culture has misinterpreted the style as "dread" while in
other cultures it has a significant meaning as some who wear it are warriors.
Locs are easily made on African or Nubian
hair rather than on Caucasian hair which is usually straight. Locs are African
hairstyles that are made up of hair strands that have been intentionally
twisted, coiled, and rolled with the palms to create a rope-like appearance.
There are different types of locs. There are the sister locs, traditional locs,
freeform locs, two-strand twist dread locs, interlocking locs, etc.
This
style could save time from going to the saloons plaiting new hairstyles and
also beat the cost of plaiting for weor for months. Locs also serve as a form
of protective hairstyle for the hair. HHaiHair loss could be cared for by
keeping it moisturized and hydrated by using water-based products and oils. At
seasoned intervals, it's advisable to include professional hydrating treatments
that are gotten from hair salons.
