BIODIVERSITY CLUB HOLDS CAMPUS LEADERS CONCONSERVATIONON WORKSHOP

Biodiversity Conservation Club, University of Ibadan held a day workshop on the 13th of January, 2024. The workshop was divided into two sessions, with the Campus Leaders’ Conservation Workshop coming first and Nature Walk/ Bird watching session for the evening. The event was held at the Emeritus Professor S.S Ajayi Seminar Room, Department of Wildlife and Ecotourism Management.

The session themed Beyond Boundaries: Uniting for Conservation was aimed at highlighting the need for everyone to be involved and committed to environment sustainability. The workshop was strictly by invitation to leaders at the faculty and department level and also other student associations.



The keynote speaker 1 was Professor Olajumoke Morenikeji, the Chair, Pangolin Conservation Guild Nigeria (PCGN), and the second keynote speaker was Dr, Olajuyigbe Samuel. In attendance were also other dignitaries, Dr. Rahma Abu, the representative of the Dean of students; Professor Henrietta Awobode, Director, the Zoological Garden, UI; Professor Adejoke Akinyele, Dean, Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources; Professor Omonona Abosede, HOD, Department of Wildlife and Ecotourism; Mrs Olowookere Olajumoke, from The Waste Museum, Ibadan.

Student Leaders present there were Samson Tobilola, the SU President; Fiyin Atinmo, the President of the Council of Faculty Presidents; Ibrahim Obakemi, Ameer of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, UI; Aishat Akano, the PRO II of the Union of Campus Journalists, UI among many others.
