Movie review: SHE MUST BE OBEYED.

Funke Akindele aka Jennifer who is unarguably the most versatile actress in Nigeria has  shown  another dynamic of her acting prowess in a new movie series titled She Must Be Obeyed"

The veteran actress featured as the main lead of the movie. It's a series movie with the first part with 5 episodes  released. She must be obeyed is a 2023 Nigeria mini series premiered by Amazon prime video and released on Friday September 29, 2023. The 5-part series featured Funke Akindele,Venice,Nancy Isime, Waje, Sheffield Bello,Patience Ozokwor, Shaffy Bello, Lateef Adedimeji, Chiwetalu Agu,Akah Nnani, JJC Skillz and others.

She must be obeyed is about the life of three successful music stars;SHE, Tito, X-cite played by Funke Akindele, Veeiye and Waje respectively. Shiyanbola known as SHE in the movie portrays a character bent on remaining at the top without minding who she unfairly treats on getting to the stardom. A group gathers and plots to unveil "SHE" true nature leading to revenge and deception in the music industry. 

The movie addresses bullying in the music industry. The series revealed unhealthy  competition in entertainment industry especially music industry. The viewers get to see drama, fashion,competition all in one. It showcases what young artists go through for their voices to be heard, the hunger to be in the face of the public, their carelessness regarding signing record labels contracts and how their inexperience and the chase of fame make them loose themselves.

The script of the movie is remarkable,the events and scenes complement perfectly. The acting performance was professional and distinguished. Funke Akindele delivered  her role excellently and so did the other actors in supporting role.

Despite all of this  the movie lacks element of suprise. It's truly predictable how those SHE has treated badly will expose her secrets. From a more important view, the movie should have been completed in the first season to avoid the risk of dragging the story line in subsequent seasons.

Asides from this, the cinematography is commendable. The visuals, sound, effects, costumes were really excellent.
