In celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11th, the Girls Kings' Club hosted a special event at Macman College with the theme, "Girls Forging Paths, Redefining Leadership, Embracing Change, and Exploring Career Choices for Development."

The event commenced at approximately 11:37 am, with Miss Gabriella delivering the opening remarks, extending a warm welcome to the students and providing an overview of the day's activities. Following this, Miss Mary Adeyemo, a seasoned public speaker and a speaker at Jaw War, imparted her knowledge on the art of public speaking to the girls. An interactive session saw the girls divided into clusters to discuss the topic "Can Everyone Speak in Public?" This exercise aimed to help the girls understand the significance of effective public speaking, emphasizing that we speak because we have valuable messages to convey.

Mr. Afolarin Afolayan, the President of AIESEC, addressed the gathering, focusing on career paths and highlighting the underrepresentation of women in positions of power. He urged girls to support one another and stand up for their aspirations.

Tawakalt Olaoluwa, the President of Asido, discussed leadership, emphasizing that leaders are not just rulers but can be transformational figures working towards specific goals. She cited inspirational examples of women who have made significant contributions to the world, including Marie Curie, Rosa Parks, and Ìbùkún Awosika.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Gabriella Oladele, expressing gratitude to the speakers, students, volunteers, and the host school. The event concluded at 1:18 pm, followed by a photography session. The event served as a celebration of the potential and empowerment of young girls, providing them with the tools to shape their futures.
