University of Ibadan Holds Virtual Graduation Ceremony for PEBL-WA Participants
On the 25th of September, 2023, at
9:00 AM, the University of Ibadan held a graduation ceremony via Zoom to
celebrate student and staff who had participated in the UI-wide Learning
Management System (LMS) training.
The training that was sponsored by the Partnership
for Enhanced and Blended Learning in West Africa (PEBL-WA) Project and this took
place in 12 universities in Nigeria and Ghana.
This project funded by the Association Of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and facilitated by the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
The project was carried out for both staff
and students, with the training program for the students carried out in six batches,
which began on the 27th of March and ended on the 19th of
August, 2023.
The program ended with recognition for participants
with outstanding results. The overall best graduating participant (staff) was
Samuel Olajuyigbe from the department of Forestry Production and Products.
The three best results in each of the six
batches were also celebrated for their outstanding results. The highest results
scored by Inioluwa Deborah Ola from the department of physiotherapy and Valentino
Onwuka from the department of Environmental Health Sciences.
In her acceptance speech, Miss. Ola thanked
the University for the opportunity to learn and she stated that blended
learning ‘bridges gaps in an ever changing world.”
The ceremony ended at a few minutes past
ten with the school anthem and the national anthem.
