JOBBERMAN ORGANIZES SOFT SKILL TRAINING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN.

On Thursday 14th September, 2023, the  Association of Nutrition Science Students, Environmental Health Science Student Association, and the National Association of Political Science Students in collaboration with Jobberman Nigeria organized a soft skill training in KAAF Auditorium, Human Nutrition and Dietetics Department.

Jobberman Nigeria is an organization that "connects job seekers to job owners." They organized the training to "shape the minds of students" and make them "marketable" in the business world.

 

The training commenced by 10:04 a.m. with the ANSS president in the person of Akinade Ogunniyi welcoming everyone present and advising everyone to be intentional about their skills.

 

The HOD of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Dr Oluyemisi Folasire gave the opening charge. She revealed that for one to be preferred, one had to put in an extra effort. "Make yourself marketable," she advised students.

 

Dr Ibukun Afolami took the first session speaking on Choices With Regards To Career. He revealed that "one thing that makes the life of an adult is independence The skills you acquire have to point you to your goal," he explained to students. He also challenged students to write down their life purpose plans. He ended his session with a quote from an author "Everything is going to be okay in the end. And if it's not okay, it's not the end."

 

Mr. Sunday Joel spoke on Personal Effectiveness, Emotional Intelligence, Time Management, Effective Communication, Creative Thinking, Employability skills, and more. In his session, he stated, "As a university student, you must be universal". He also encouraged the students to be confident enough to share their knowledge.

Students took a brief examination and certificates were presented to those who made the pass mark. At the end of the training, students from Bowen University, Obafemi Awolowo University, and Lead City University were recognized.
