Jaja Clinic Launches #AttackAgainstAsthma Project
By AFỌLÁBÍ E. Simisólá
In
a determined effort to continue providing crucial access to healthcare, Jaja
Clinic at the University of Ibadan is poised to launch the #AttackAgainstAsthma
Project. The initiative is scheduled to run from Monday, September 25th, to
Friday, September 29th, 2023, with daily operations from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The
driving force behind this healthcare charity program is Temitope Omosebi Enoch.
The project's primary goal is to distribute free inhalers to University of
Ibadan students diagnosed with asthma who have completed their registration at
the clinic and possess medical records confirming their condition.
A
total of 40 to 50 inhalers will be made available for collection at the Asthma
Clinic within the University of Ibadan Health Center. These inhalers will be
distributed on a "first-come, first-served" basis and will include
variants like Ventolin, Fortide, Sivobutamol, and Aeroline.
The
team responsible for implementing this program includes Temitope Omosebi Enoch,
the program's initiator, Ayodele Kayode Ayomide, who played a vital role in
strategizing, and Pharmacist Eniola Arowele, who provided professional
healthcare expertise.
The program's promotional poster
clearly states that its inception was driven by the desire to enhance access to
healthcare, especially considering the rising costs of inhalers. Additionally,
it aims to contribute to sustainable development goals.
